The National End of Life Care Programme aims to support the implementation of the Department of Health's End of Life Care Strategy for England by sharing good practice in collaboration with local and national stakeholders.
This website is aimed at health and social care staff and provides information on a variety of aspects relating to end of life care. This includes more than 150 case studies that highlight good practice and new cases are constantly being added. They are taken from different care settings e.g. care homes, hospitals, primary care and hospices and stages of the care pathway. They also cover engaging with users and carers, commissioning, strategic direction and knowledge and skills. In addition there is a section containing latest news useful websites, links and resources.

New Guide Sets the Baseline for a Quality End of Life Care WorkforceMost health and social care staff will be caring for people at the end of their lives at some point in their work. But unless you are working in a field such as palliative care it is unlikely you will have had the training you need to deliver the highest quality care and support to people at the end of their lives. Now, the National End of Life Care Programme has worked with Skills for Health and Skills for Care to outline the core skills and knowledge that will allow staff across health and social care to respond with confidence to one of the most challenging areas of care. This document outlines the principles that underpin quality end of life care.
