15 Dec 2007: Macmillan Cancer Support publish new directory

Macmillan Cancer Support has published a directory of groups and organisations across the UK and overseas for people affected by cancer and professionals who work with them. Directory of self help and support and user groups 2007/8 'We connect people' (Product MAC5891) is designed to inform people affected by cancer of the local support available to them.

Formally Preferred Place of Care, Preferred Priorities for Care (PPC) is a document that individuals hold themselves and take with them if they receive care in different places.


18 Oct 2007: New End of Life Care website launched

The NHS End of Life Care programme has launched a new website at www.endoflifecareforadults.nhs.uk with over 100 case studies aimed at health and social care staff who want to make a difference to delivering end of life care services for Adults.


14 Oct 2007: Consultation on Improving the Process of Death Certification

The consultation paper Consultation on Improving the Process of Death Certification seeks views on proposals to address weaknesses in the current system for certifying death which were identified by the Shipman Inquiry.

26 Apr 2007: PCTs are required to undertake a review of EoLC services

As part of the Operating framework 2007-08, PCTs are required to undertake a baseline review of end of life care services in preparation for the End of Life Care Strategy. These questions are designed to provide all the information commissioners may need in order to develop stronger commissioning for end of life, working with a variety of service providers.
